Before technology, news was informed via word of mouth. Pheidippides ran 25 miles everyday. This moves from the idea of individual to society. Oral news can also be a form of gossip, peer to peer transmission. This can be done by word of mouth or through technology. Due to today's highly advanced technology this can be done in many ways. A more personal way of peer to peer transmission can be hand written. Integrating technology with this method, the public are able to email, text or enstant chat. On the other hand there is a debate as to whether this is similar to news written on paper as email, texts and instant messages are less time consming.
